An antique white cotton princess slip, dating to approximately 1910, with delicate lace inserts and champagne-toned ribbon bows.
A wide lace neckline and softly ruffled cap sleeves frame the shoulders. Across the front, angular lace bands meet beneath small gathered cotton panels, then continue vertically down the dress. Ribbon threads through the neckline and the band above the lower skirt, finishing in long bows.
The gently shaped body opens into a deep gathered flounce, decorated with further lace inserts and a lace-trimmed hem. Small buttons fasten the back beneath a V-shaped neckline.
Originally an undergarment, this piece can also be styled as a light summer dress or layered over a simple slip to highlight the sheer lacework.
